We are thrilled to finally be able to share this Frida Kahlo inspired shoot with you. In searching for the words to describe the inspiration behind it, we kept coming back to Jessica of Jessica Maida Photography‘s words. “If you’re not as familiar with Frida, she was and still is a woman that is celebrated and impersonated the world over transcending all races, ages, and even genders in her portrayals and muses. She exhibited a larger than life personality deeply fueled by pain but one wrapped in drama, boldness, and revolutionary feminism. I lived in Mexico after college and fell in love with her story and everything that she represents so while this began as a fun and creative project outside the norm, it turned into a very passionate project.” With the styling expertise of Mod Mau Designs, a shoot was created that embodied bold statements in color, setting, and mood allowing us to create larger than life and brighter than bright florals. The architecture of Monumental Church coupled with personalized touches such as the Frida pencil drawing created by Jessica’s sister, Danielle Grandi, set the stage for a shoot that deviated from the norm in such a stunning way. And the amazing icing on the cake is that this gorgeous, heartfelt shoot has been published in the Winter/Spring issue of Trendy Bride Magazine. It is truly an honor to have our work in print inspired by and alongside such talented women.
